David Urban, PE, Director of Operations, is a nationally recognized expert in wetland mitigation banking and civil engineering, and is the past President of the National Mitigation Banking Association. He spent 7 years with Land and Water Resources as Director of Operations, managing 15 mitigation banking projects from concept, through design and permitting, construction, and operations. Katherine Birnie, Director of Markets, has cross-disciplinary experience in real estate acquisition, conservation finance and ecosystem service market analysis and research. Prior to joining EIP, Katherine was Conservation Innovation Program Manager at the Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) where she launched an initiative to develop and implement new project finance approaches to land conservation. Michael Dennis, JD, LLM, Legal Counsel, has over 35 years of experience in the conservation real estate business, working directly on billions of dollars of land transactions protecting millions of acres of valuable conservation lands in North America. Prior to joining the EIP team, he served 25 years as General Counsel and 6 years as Vice President for Real Estate at The Nature Conservancy. Diane Zorn, CPA, Director of Finance, joined EIP in September 2011. Prior to joining EIP, she was Controller for Camden Partners Holdings, LLC's private equity investment funds. Previously, Ms. Zorn worked at Legg Mason as a staff accountant in the Administrative Management Group and as a senior accountant in the Wealth Management Group. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant.
